We have been exploring Rivers as part of our new topic this term. We explored the features of Rivers and created our own Rivers using card and string. We identified the different parts of a river during its journey. How many different parts of a river can you find?
We have been learning about different states of matter in science. We decided to test different fizzy drinks to see which one had the most carbon dioxide in. We had lots of fun exploring this and using our maths to help us. We measured 100ml of each different drink and weighed then using a plastic bottle and weighing scales. We shook it until the bubbles disappeared. We weighed it again to see what the difference was compared to the drink being fizzy before it was shook.
We have been having lots of fun learning how to do some fantastic gymnastics this term so far. Today we have been learning how to do head stands, hand stands, forward and backward rolls and how to hold shapes on ropes safely.
As part of our Enterprise initiative we made and sold Christmas items at our own Christmas craft fair!
We sold Santa plates, Santa milk bottles, personalised baubles, Christmas tea lights and Santa letters!
We originally had £30 which we managed to turn into a whopping £240!! This gave us a healthy profit of at least £150!!!
How amazing is that????
We started Anti Bullying Week by each being given a paper heart. Mrs Dunne told us to crumple it up as much as we could. After that she told us to open it again and try to make it look as exactly as it did before – after lots of trying we realised it was impossible!
The moral of the story is that once someone’s heart is damaged it can never really heal properly to the way it was before. We dicussed that by bullying you may never know the full extent of the damage you are doing to someone on the inside!
Mrs Dunne explained that we would regret damaging someone’s heart but we would never regret being kind! 😊
Be a superhero – stand up to bullies! 💙
This week is the first week of Advent and we are waiting in joyful hope for the coming of Jesus. In our class we have made our own promises for the season of Advent and have made a calendar to discuss one Promise everyday to see if we can achieve it.
